Sheri’s Bradley Method® Class Review

Thursday, March 8th, 2012

Just had a student send this to me after she rocked the heck out of her birth this week! She gave me permission to share. I think this just goes to show how awesome my students are:

“Forgot to tell you, thought this would make you proud! My nurse was so AMAZED at how calm I was throughout my labor, she had another nurse come in and observe how well I was doing without meds… I was wondering why she was there! She explained that I did an awesome, perfect job in handling pain!!!”
-Sheri

This happens a LOT to my students, and I’ve seen it firsthand with my students that I have been there for as the doula, as well. Even long-time nurses are shocked by how calm my students are during labor. I’m so proud of my students for demonstrating to nurses and doctors that women CAN have a FABULOUS natural birth!!!

Sheri, I am so proud of you and your hubby! You guys did awesome!

Doula! Film Screening March 24, 2012 in Upland (Inland Empire)

I’m excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a screening of the new film “Doula!” at Peachy Keen Birth Services March 24th, 2012, to celebrate World Doula Week!

Doula! Film Screening at Peachy Keen Birth Services Upland
Doula! Film Screening at Peachy Keen Birth Services

Whether you’re an expectant parent or birth worker, or maybe just interested in getting a glimpse of exactly what a doula does, this will be a really neat event!

Doors open at 7:00 for snacks and mingling, and the film screening will start at 7:30, followed by a chance for discussion and Q&A after.

I’ll be providing snacks and refreshments, but please also feel free to bring your own dinner if you’d like! There is a fabulous deli in my building if you’d like to try the best sandwiches in the universe (Deli-V).

Babes in arms are welcome. My office is teeny tiny, so I ask that older children hang out at home.

I have 15 spots open, so please only RSVP yes if you’re sure you can make it!

ABOUT THE FILM:
http://doulafilm.com/doula-film-faq/
DOULA! is a 60 minute new documentary film that shows in close-up detail the amazing work of birth and postpartum doulas.

The 50 min Birth Doula documentary film features three births (two home water births and video diary footage of a home birth that turns into a hospital c-section).

Then there is a separate 10 minute Postnatal (Postpartum) Doula section showing two doulas supporting couples in the first few weeks after they become new parents.
